The LBMS VMA consists of four choirs of student performers in grades 6-8. The choirs are ILLUMINATIONS, 6th grade Mixed Choir LIMELIGHT, 7th & 8th Intermediate Mixed Choir, SPOTLIGHT, 7th & 8th grade Treble Choir, and STARLIGHT, 7th & 8th grade Advanced Mixed Choir.
The LBMS VMA consists of four choirs of student performers in grades 6-8. The choirs are ILLUMINATIONS, 6th grade Mixed Choir LIMELIGHT, 7th & 8th Intermediate Mixed Choir, SPOTLIGHT, 7th & 8th grade Treble Choir, and STARLIGHT, 7th & 8th grade Advanced Mixed Choir.
The vocal music program emphasizes music theory, sight-reading, and performance skills. Students explore a wide range of musical genres, including folk, classical, jazz, pop, and Broadway, with a special focus on A Cappella and Show Choir. Throughout the year, students showcase their talents in events such as the Fall Concert, Christmas Cabaret, and the Spring Pop Show. They also have the opportunity to audition for the school wide musical or participate in the exclusive Dance Ensemble, which adds dynamic choreography to select performances. In addition, students travel across Southern California to compete against other middle schools at various venues.
